The Handle, Bolster, and Pommel are commonly made of Steel and Brass. These will engrave beautifully and can even have stones set in them!
Having a Firearm engraved will make it a family Heirloom that will be pasted down for generations! Various Firearms and gun parts can be engraved! Steel and Brass components yield the best results. If a Firearm part is cased harden, synthetic or constructed with a material such as carbon fiber it might not be engravable.

THE PROCESS
After determining the area to be engraved the process begins. Each project starts with a few quick sketches and basic layouts with pencil and paper. The layout will then go digital and be refined with great detail. After it is approved by the client the design is transferred to the metal and the cutting begins. Under a high powered microscope alloyed steel gravers are then used to cut the metal with skilled hand control. Background textures and finishes are added ad the end to complete the engraving.
